What ACA plans offer

• Four plan levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Lower premiums mean higher costs when you get care.

• Help with costs: you may qualify for a tax credit if your household income is about $15,960 to $63,840 for one person.

• Full coverage: doctor visits, hospital stays, prescriptions, and mental health care. Many preventive services are free.

• Pre-existing conditions are covered. You can't be turned down or charged more.

Key dates for 2027

• Open Enrollment runs November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027.

• Sign up by December 15 for coverage starting January 1.

• A life event like moving, marriage, or losing coverage lets you enroll outside those dates.

Good to know

• The extra pandemic tax credits ended after 2025, so many premiums went up.

• New for 2027: some Bronze and catastrophic plans can be paired with an HSA.
